Subject: 1st Recon A Co meet and greet
Message: Good afternoon, my name is GySgt David Nisbeth, I am the platoon sergeant for 1st Platoon, A Co, 1st Recon Bn. I am reaching out to you hoping you could get me in contact with a few Marines that served in A Co 1st Recon Bn. We are planning a meet and greet where I want to set up a panel of Marine Vets from (Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Iraq) to allow the Marines to ask question to them about their experiences they had as Recon Marines. I was hoping you could put me in contact with a few that live in the San Diego area that could possibly join us on 1 March. Marines that served in A co is preferred, but if that is not possible then we will extend the invitation to any Recon Marine.

Enlisted is a must.

Thanks for all the help.

Gy Dave Nisbeth

Subject: Guys not in Vietnam Reunion

Message: This is a generation you are missing out on to further the 1st Recon BN legacy. Gulf War to Present. These are the guys who will continue on the 1st Recon Bn Association if you let them. But, you need to stop having Vietnam Reunions only. This reunion, takes place close to Camp Pendleton, where more than 30 can attend. We are looking at 3-4 X the number of former recon Marines and Sailors you have at your Vietnam reunions. You need to reach out to us if you want the legacy to live and quit excluding those who didn't serve in Vietnam.

How can we help our Gulf War to Present veterans?

Floyd your

1st Recon Battalion Association Membership Director & Webmaster

Jim Harrell Sr. I agree. 1st Recon didn't begin or end with Viet Nam. For the legacy, we (all) need to come together and support each other.

.

Ronald Overton Concur. We need the younger Marines

.

Marty Adcock I served with Jirka in the Gulf under Charles Kershaw. He is solid people. I had spoken to Charles about this very topic and he agreed. We want to be involved and continue our service to the Bn where we can. Thanks brothers!

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for stopping by today

Michael Willis Everyone wants new blood "I concur" yet staging in one location only benefits those near that one location and alienates the others. Reconners of the East Coast quit coming same as West Coast Reconners did with the 2nd Recon get together held on Top Sail in North Carolina. Now the Recon reunion set with the 1st Mar Div reunion is getting smaller. There is now a Bravo Co get together, a Charlie Co get together, Recon Cruise, 3rd Recon get together, etc. I served in 1st Recon with B and C, 5th Recon, 7th Marines and 27th Mar during my USMC time in Viet Nam. I also served with 2nd Recon in NC. All have reunions yet I can not attend all, I do try. My health is an issue for me as I admit my body has a lot of mileage and abuse on it. There is no clear answer that everyone will agree to except as Recon Marine we will adapt to this situation, over come problems in front of us and only improvise as needed. We are Brothers regardless locations we live, the Company or Bn we served, or ERA ie RVN, Central America, Gulf, Afghan or even peace time served. Recon was my life for 6 years active and will always define me as a Marine. Hell it still defines me to this day! SF

Although I really want to attend I can see no way possible to do so. My health sucks and so do my finances. Carribis is the only one I know on the attendees list but I would still like to meet those who went before and after me. I will do my best to make it next year if the Good Lord is willing. Thank you for the invitation, I hope all those who make it have a great time.

Denny
